CvL goes OMUN 2026

On 27 and 28 February 2026, our MUN club participated in the OMUN conference at the Oskar von Miller Gymnasium in Munich. As delegates representing Mexico, South Korea, the Netherlands and Norway, we worked in the International Maritime Organization committee and discussed how modern maritime piracy and armed robbery at sea can be addressed.

Isabella enjoyed the lively discussions with students from other schools and appreciated the chance to make new friends. She found it motivating to work with delegates who already had experience from previous conferences. Franziska said that she had had a lot of fun and learned a lot during the weekend. She especially enjoyed the debates and discussing global issues.

Julius described OMUN as both exciting and educational. He felt that his public speaking and confidence had improved a lot over the two days. What began with a bit of nervousness quickly turned into a fun and memorable experience. Representing a country in a UN committee, he said, was a special way to explore real political issues.

Angelina also highlighted how meaningful it felt to take on the role of a UN delegate. For her, it was an exciting and unforgettable opportunity to engage with important global topics and understand international politics from a new perspective.

Overall, OMUN 2026 was a great experience for our whole team—full of learning, teamwork, and new connections. In September, we are going to attend a MUN conference in Hamburg, and we are really looking forward to it.
